Reflection

The Maple Grove Country Club project showed me the importance of intentional design in relation to flexibility and creativity. From the programming phase to the final presentation, my problem solving skills have been tested as I have worked around design and program issues. These issues strengthened me as a designer while teaching me new techniques and methods along the way.

After reflecting on the project, I have realized my favorite part was watching the spaces come to life in Enscape. The programming and schematic phases became exhausting while I was working out various issues in the space plans. However, as I began the design development phase, I regained momentum and watched the project come alive.

Great design is about the process, not the final product. The final presentation and completion of this project were established through the intentional research and consideration of the programming and schematic phases. Altogether, each phase ensures that the final product looks effortless and understandable to others. Maple Grove Country Club was designed to promote sustainability through distinct design solutions and experiential space planning.
